Fighting for Conner - Obstacle Course Race - June 9, 2019

FIGHTING FOR CONNER WITH TARDIGRADE OBSTACLE COURSE RACING

Join us for a day of fun and fitness while we celebrate Conner Beish and International Batten Disease Awareness Day!

Background:

In 2017, 4-year old Conner Beish was diagnosed with a rare, and presently terminal disease, known as Batten Disease. It is estimated that 2-4 births per 100,000 in the U.S. are affected by this disease. The Batten Disease Support and Research Association (BDSRA) is an amazing foundation that helps to fund research in order to find treatments for Batten Disease, as well as helping families all over the world as they are coping with this disorder. Proceeds from this race will benefit the BDSRA (https://bdsra.org/).

The Obstacle Course Race:

The Tardigrade Obstacle Course Race will consist of 25+ obstacles on an approximately 1.5-mile course (https://www.ocrtardigradetough.com/course-map). Register for the "Fun Run", or try out the "Competitive Wave" where you will compete against others in your age group. Medals will be provided for all participants. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age group category of the competitive division. T-shirts are guaranteed for everyone who registers prior to May 9th. Youth and adults are welcome to participate!

Parking:

Parking will be at Triple Creek Winery near the race venue (11138 Three Bridge Branch Rd, Cordova, MD 21625). Parking fee is $5 cash on race day. Participants and spectators will be shuttled by hay ride from the parking lot to the race venue.

Schedule:

1:00 pm - Check-in (please make sure to arrive with plenty of time to park and be shuttled over to the race venue).

2:00 pm - Competitive Waves Begin

2:30 pm - Fun Waves Begin

Face painting, bounce house, packaged snacks and drinks will be available for an additional fee - please bring cash.
